Ruggable's rug system comes in two pieces - a lightweight, removable rug cover that fits perfectly inside the washing machine, and a clingy, nonslip rug pad that keeps the cover securely in place. When it's time for a wash, simply peel off the cover, throw it in the wash, and you're good as new!

Our low-pile and lightweight Rug Cover is stain-resistant, water-resistant, and designed to fit conveniently in your home washing machine—even the 9x12! The easy-to-clean Rug Pad features a nonslip back, made of the same latex-free material used in yoga mats. When it's time to wash, simply place the Rug Cover in your washing machine, add a mild non-bleach detergent and fabric softener, and use the delicate cycle with cold water. Air dry or set the dryer to low heat. For the Rug Pad, spot clean and periodically vacuum or sweep.

To assemble, roll up the Rug Cover with the design side in, position the Rug Pad (larger rugs may have a two-piece pad), align the rolled Rug Cover with the edge of the Pad, and unroll the Rug Cover over the Pad, smoothing out any wrinkles.

Our rugs are compatible with most standard washing machines. For Chenille Rug Covers and Doormat Covers, you'll need at least 2.2 Cu. Ft. Capacity for 2'x3', Runners, 3'x5', 4'x6', 5'x7', 6' Round, at least 3.8 Cu. Ft. Capacity for 6'x9', 8' Round, 8'x10', 9'x12', and at least 5.5 Cu. Ft. Capacity for 10'x14'.

Rug placement tips: In the living room, the rug should help define the space and improve the acoustics. In the kitchen, the area in front of the sink is the most functional place. In the bedroom, placing a large area rug under the bed is most common. In the dining room, select a rug that's 4 feet larger than your dining table. And for hallways, our 2.5'x7', 2.5'x10', and 2.5'x12' washable runner rugs are perfect.
